In 1978, after
involvement in the building industry for almost a decade;
when
"green", "climate change"
and "global warming" were unheard of;
in a process to engender
"responsible capitalism";
Alternative
Industries & Development Limited
was incorporated,
with a goal of building increased energy
efficiency into new homes; taking advantage of and harnessing the
Sun's energy. We began by creating site oriented
passive solar homes, participating in the HotCan and R2000 energy
efficiency initiatives when they came along.
Today
with energy costs
skyrocketing
continues this legacy, encouraging responsible ecological
stewardship, and care for natural energy sustainability,
by applying almost 40 years of experience to current solar/wind projects; employing skilled technicians; installing
"state of the art" equipment.
